TabRetain privacy policy

Summary

Your tabs never leave your computer. TabRetain has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

What TabRetain stores

The addresses (URLs), titles, pinned state and window positions of the tabs in your normal (non-incognito) windows, plus your settings and the date you installed TabRetain (used only to keep early-user benefits; it is included in your own export files). This is stored with Chrome's extension storage inside your own browser profile. Incognito windows are never read or saved.

What TabRetain sends over the network

• Nothing in the free version.
• If you buy and activate TabRetain Pro, only the licence key you type is sent to Polar (polar.sh, our merchant of record) to check that it is valid, at activation and about once a week afterwards. No browsing data is included. Purchases are handled by Polar under its own privacy policy.

Files

Exports and Pro backup files are written only to the folder you choose / your Downloads folder. TabRetain never uploads them.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell, share or transfer user data to anyone, and do not use it for any purpose other than saving and restoring your sessions. The use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

Delete individual sessions in TabRetain, or remove the extension: Chrome then deletes all TabRetain data from your profile.
